1. Who we are

ParentCompass (parentcompass.ai) is an AI-powered college counselling service for families. References to "we", "us", or "ParentCompass" in this policy refer to the team operating parentcompass.ai. For privacy enquiries, contact us at hello@parentcompass.ai.

2. What data we collect

Depending on how you use ParentCompass, we may collect:

• Email address — when you join our waitlist via the form on our homepage.
• Account & profile data — if you create an account, we store your name, email, and the profile information you provide (such as a student's grade, academic details, activities, and the email addresses of family members you invite).
• Payment data — if you purchase a Founding Family subscription, payment is processed by Stripe. We do not store your full card details; Stripe handles them and shares only limited transaction metadata (e.g. last four digits, billing status) with us.

Student profile data is provided and managed by the parent or guardian who owns the account. We do not knowingly collect data directly from children — see Section 8.

3. How we use your data

Your email address is used solely to:

• Notify you when ParentCompass launches
• Send you early-access information and founding-member pricing details
• Occasionally share product updates relevant to ParentCompass

We will never sell, rent, or share your email address with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Third-party services

We rely on the following services to operate ParentCompass:

• MailerLite — our email service provider. Your email address is stored on MailerLite's servers. MailerLite's privacy policy is available at mailerlite.com.
• Cloudflare Pages — our website hosting provider. Cloudflare may collect standard server logs (IP address, browser type, request metadata) for security and performance purposes. Cloudflare's privacy policy is available at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
• Supabase — our database and authentication provider. Account, profile, and roadmap data are stored on Supabase's servers. Supabase's privacy policy is available at supabase.com/privacy.
• Stripe — our payment processor. If you purchase a subscription, Stripe handles your payment details. Stripe's privacy policy is available at stripe.com/privacy.

5. Cookies

We do not load any non-essential cookies until you accept them via our cookie banner. If you accept, we load MailerLite's scripts, which set cookies used for analytics and to power our email signup forms. If you reject, no analytics or marketing cookies are set. You can change your choice at any time by clearing your browser storage for this site. We do not use advertising cookies that track you across other websites.

6. Your rights

You have the right to:

• Unsubscribe — click the unsubscribe link in any email we send you
• Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
• Delete — request that we delete your email address from our list

To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@parentcompass.ai and we will respond within 7 days.

7. Data retention

We retain your email address on our waitlist until you unsubscribe or request deletion. If ParentCompass does not launch within 24 months of you joining the waitlist, we will delete all waitlist data.

8. Children's privacy

Accounts and our waitlist are intended for parents and adults aged 18 and over. Any information about a student is provided and managed by the parent or guardian who owns the account, under their direction. We do not knowingly collect personal data directly from children. If you believe a child has submitted their data to us without a parent's involvement, contact us at hello@parentcompass.ai and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. We will notify waitlist members by email of any material changes. Continued use of our site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
